Sodus Cold Storage, Co., Inc. was established in 1914 by a group of local farmers and businessmen whose main goal was to provide the area growers with a warehouse to store their produce for orderly marketing. It was also built to provide an icing station so that the produce could be loaded in rail cars for shipment to New York City and other major eastern markets.

1930 introduced SCS to the "Frozen Food Age" with its first freezer room. In 1963, SCS acquired its second facility in nearby North Rose, New York. This gave SCS an additional service to offer local growers - controlled atmosphere long term storage.

SCS has continued to expand, constructing freezer and cooler space as our market grew. Today, we can offer 3 million cubic feet of freezer, cooler and convertible space to meet your every storage requirement. As the years passed, the most efficient insulators and refrigeration equipment was installed to make your experience with SCS the most cost effective in the industry.

In the 1990's we entered the refrigerated transportation business and continue to this day to offer asset based transportation services to our customers. This evolutionary updating of equipment and services, along with implementing the latest in computerized warehouse management systems was, and continues to be, a major commitment of present management.
